Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 16, 2026
Blocks is a budgeting app that was designed from the start to know nothing about you. This policy is short because there is almost nothing to disclose.
What we collect
Nothing. Blocks has no accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, no crash reporting SDKs, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We never see your budget, your transactions, your name, your email, or your device identifiers.
Where your data lives
Everything you enter in Blocks is stored in two places, both belonging to you:
- On your device, in the app’s local database.
- In your private iCloud database (if you’re signed into iCloud), so your budget syncs across your devices and survives a lost phone. This storage is provided by Apple’s CloudKit and is encrypted under your Apple ID. The developer has no access to it and no ability to read it.
Backups you export are ordinary files saved wherever you choose (such as your own iCloud Drive). They never pass through our hands.
Siri and Shortcuts
Voice entry (“Log Restaurants in Blocks”) is processed by Apple’s Siri under Apple’s privacy terms. The resulting transaction is written directly to your device. Nothing is sent to us.
Purchases
There are none. Blocks is free and has no in-app purchases, so there is no payment information of any kind.
Children
Blocks collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Given the app’s design (no servers, no collection), meaningful changes are unlikely.
